The sincere documentary gets **** Out of 5. But ***** overall for the DVD.

His Name Was Jason: 30-Years of Friday the 13th is a must contain for fans of the franchise; this documentary on the series was written by Thommy Hutson & Anthony Masi and directed by Daniel Farrands who wrote Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and hosted by Tom Savini. Due to some of the people interested like Anthony Masi and the fact this was keep out by Starz Home Entertainment (using the Anchor Bay name) no doubt people will compare this to Halloween: 25-Years of Alarm.

As distinguished as I enjoyed His Name Was Jason it isn’t without its flaws. I was hoping this documentary would veil some of the production on the movies, but actually very microscopic of the making of the films are covered and that’s where 25-Years of Anxiety edges it out. For most of the 90-minutes it’s various members of the cast and crew and other filmmakers talking about the movies like Jason’s psyche and some of the destroy scenes. In a sense it’s sort of like hanging out with friends talking about the films, which was really wintry, but I would have liked to have heard more about the production of the films. The first 10-minutes or so are spent talking about the plots and I understanding this documentary might fail. I mean I be pleased the series, but there weren’t many plots. The first and third are really the only ones with hint of a place, but once we rep past that His Name Was Jason really picks up.

Buy,Download, Or Stream His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th! Click Here

What I absolutely loved about His Name Was Jason was seeing some of the actors taking portion. Some of the actors have done conventions or attach themselves out there with interviews for various panic sites, but some of the actors are ones that haven’t been heard of since the releases of the films. There were a lot of actors keen and that’s what really made this so mighty fun. My only complaint is too grand time was attach on Joe Lynch director of Depraved Turn 2, Adam Green director of Hatchet and James Roday star of the TV series Psych. While I loved Hatchet and care for Roday on Psych, I do feel too noteworthy time was spent with them. First off Lynch and Green were hysterical, but I would rather hear more from the people actually enthusiastic.

Like I said most of His Name Was Jason focuses on stuff you would chat with friends about rather than the making of the movies. Shavar Ross who played Reggie in the 5th fragment mentions how originally he was area to return for the 6th. Obviously that didn’t happen since Jason Lives went in a different direction, but it would have been nice if stated what the new view was. Granted it’s not a vast deal, but information like this would have been nice. The documentary was very fun and at times informative, but I hoped for more focus on the production of the movies and there really should have been a lot more focus attach on the people eager, but despite these complaints His Name Was Jason truly is a must enjoy for fans and again despite any complaints the fans of these movies will savor this documentary flaws and all.

Some people have complained about clear people not being interested, but study this documentary covers every film in the franchise and it would be impossible to collect everyone fervent. It would have been nice to sight Dana Kimmell, Thom Matthews and Corey Feldman, but regardless His Name Was Jason is tranquil ample and has at least 1 person per film. Every film in the series has at least 1 person eager so due to that people have to lighten up.

As generous as His Name Was Jason was it’s the bonus features that really manufacture this DVD so astounding. The DVD is spot packed with bonus features of 4-hours of mutter and this is how a DVD release should be like. Quite honestly His Name Was Jason would rate as one of my common DVDs; Anchor Bay truly did an astonishing job at the release.

The 2nd disc has a feature called Final Cuts, which runs at a total of 77-minutes and are extended interviews with all the directors except Steve Miner and Ronny Yu. Neither of them took fragment in this space and it’s quite a shame Steve Miner wasn’t fervent. Miner directed Share II, which was Jason’s debut as the killer and Allotment 3, which was the first time Jason dons the Iconic hockey screen. When it comes to the franchise Jason and the screen are the first two things that reach to mind and I would disfavor to consider Steve Miner thinks he’s above the series.

Final Cuts goes into great better detail on the making of the movies and gives magnificent first-rate insight. Some of what is said has been stated before, but this goes into exquisite wonderful detail about how the movies came about as well as filming them. His Name Was Jason was shot in 2008 and at that time some of the films ranged from 15-years obsolete to 28-years musty so it’s understandable that determined details might be forgotten, but this is what the real documentary should have been like. Again some of this stuff may have been stated before, but it was an worthy feature and really gives splendid insight.

From Script to Shroud runs at 31-minutes and has interviews with Victor Miller writer of the novel, Barney Cohen writer of the Final Chapter, Todd Farmer writer of Jason X and Damien Shannon & Effect Swift writers of Freddy Vs Jason and Friday the 13th 09. This is another solid feature, which gives superior insight to the exact writing of the movies.

But my current features were Fox Comes Home, which runs at fair under 4-minutes and features Gloria Charles who played Fox in section 3 she was a member of the biker gang and in this feature Gloria Charles walks around the filming locations of share 3 and at the demolish she recites one of her celebrated lines. Closing the Book on the Final Chapter runs at 12-minutes and features Erich Anderson who played Retract and director Joseph Zito.

This feature like Fox Comes Home is walking around the filming locations and even includes the Jarvis house as it looks now and that was really cold to contemplate. This feature gives some really superior insight to the making of the movie and again this is what the true documentary should have been like.

Shelly Lives features Larry Zerner in character and was a laugh riot! This feature is lag to save a smile on the faces of the viewer and since Shelly was such a beloved character it makes this feature even better.

Overall His Name Was Jason: 30-Years of Friday the 13th is hands down one of the very best DVDs ever released. The documentary was very solid, but it’s the bonus features that create this release so extraordinary. Fans of the series will no doubt devour the documentary and will care for the bonus features; this is a must fill for all Friday the 13th fans.

There are a lot more features on this DVD, but too many to review all of them, but trust me this DVD is worth every penny.

I received this as an early Valentine’s reveal because the remake is coming out in 5 days, so I wanted to be pumped and ready for it! This documentary is very captivating and exciting if you worship the series and adore seeing Jason do his thing! They bring relieve a lot of the significant actors who were in the movies. Even though the women are a small older, they are unruffled splendid! They talk about how they got the job, how each movie came to be, a tiny about the remake, etc. I loved the fan film in the bonus features, including Freddy Vs. Jason in 30 seconds with bunnies! If you adore Jason Voorhees, and the Friday the 13th series, I highly recommend HIS NAME WAS JASON: 30 YEARS OF FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!

Zulu is one of the greatest historical action movies ever made, and one of the tremendous war movies. It is based on what historian Michael Glover terms “the most highly decorated battle in British history”, the defence of Rorke’s Drift during the Zulu War of 1879. Eleven of the defenders received Britain’s highest award for military valor, the Victoria Cross–the rarely awarded counterpart of the US Congressional Medal of Honor. The movie is a landmark in the art of cinema for its improbable combination of situation, cross-cultural engagement, a actual myth, helpful script and blooming cast. This 1964 film never looks tired, despite my many years of rerunning it in 16mm, the Criterion laserdisc, and now the Front Row Entertainment Inc. DVD. Anecdotally, military colleges have faded Zulu to demonstrate the power of directed massed musketry, and leadership and teamwork in combat.

Zulu is the greatest achievement of the career of British actor Stanley Baker, who co-produced with US-born, formerly blacklisted director Cy Endfield. Nothing else in the genre really measures up, including Endfield’s so-called “prequel”, Zulu Dawn, or other epics based on British colonial wars, such as Khartoum. It was filmed on status in the grandeur of Natal, South Africa, with descendants of the Zulu warriors who took fraction in the new action portraying their forebears. The prominent Zulu politician and faded chief, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, plays the Zulu leader, his distant relative Cetewayo. Mass Zulu participation in the project guaranteed the uplifting dignity and authenticity of cross-cultural characterisations of the film. Early fine scenes with masses of Zulu extras explain the Zulu royal kraal, with a mass wedding of warriors in progress as news arrives of the annihilation of a strong British force at Isandhlwana. These unusual scenes probably never could be filmed again because of social and cultural change. The nearest conceptual comparison in the war genre that comes to mind is the cross-cultural aspect of Tora! Tora! Tora!

Stanley Baker believed so strongly in Zulu, despite difficulties in raising finance, that he sank powerful of his contain money into it. Playing a British Army engineer officer thrust by events into leading a desperate defensive action following the misfortune of Isandhlwana, he heads a strong cast, including a young Michael Caine as an upper crust infantry officer. There are extraordinary cameo roles by Jack Hawkins as an alcoholic missionary; Nigel Green as the imperturbable Colour Sergeant Bourne, always ready with a calming order or a bayonet; James Booth as Private Hook, portrayed as a malingerer who is perhaps the least likely Victoria Spoiled winner; Patrick Magee as Surgeon-Major Reynolds, continuing up to his elbows in surgery even as Zulus try to smash in. The narration by Richard Burton is very heavenly, and in character with the Welsh origin of the British soldiers. Welsh and Zulu singing on the cinematic battlefield is spine-tingling.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Zulu! Click Here

This film deserves the very best frame-by-frame and soundtrack digital restoration and DVD transfer that technology can provide, working from an unusual 70mm print. Meanwhile, the Front Row Entertainment Inc DVD, about the equal of the Criterion laserdisc, will have to do. The image quality is considerable less entertaining than we now request of unique DVD releases. The color and audio are fair passable. It is in widescreen format.

Stanley Baker died in 1976. Cy Endfield died in 1995. Other players who have passed on include Jack Hawkins in 1973; Nigel Green in 1972; and Patrick Magee in 1982. Before all key players in this project die, a retrospective on the making of the film–interviews, at least, with participants like Michael Caine and Mangosuthu Buthelezi–should be compiled for a current collector’s edition DVD. At the time of writing, Sir Michael Caine (age 69) seems to be enjoying the afterglow of his prolific career in cinema and dabbles in restaurants, and Dr Buthelezi (age 74) is Minister for Home Affairs in the Government of South Africa. James Booth (age 69) continues on stage and shroud.

Michael Glover’s book, “Rorke’s Drift” (Wordsworth Editions 1997) is recommended reading for anyone with a detailed interest in the historical background.

In January, 1879, a column of British soldiers comprised primarily of the 24th Regiment of Foot, South Wales Borderers, was wiped out at the ghastly of the mountain, Isandhlwana, in Natal, South Africa. A expansive contingent of 4,000 Zulu warriors then moved on to the undermanned expedition immoral at Rorke’s Drift. This movie tells the astonishing right fable of the subsequent battle, and of the victory of the 90 some British soldiers, many of them sick, who held their post in the face of overwhelming odds. Perceive Donald Morris’ definitive book, _The Washing of the Spears_, against which this film yarn compares most favorably.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Zulu! Click Here

This neglected classic was filmed at a time when it was unruffled objective possible to associate the word “glory” with military victory– without a sneer. The makers of the film avoid preaching and unprejudiced let the battle whisper the record of the men of both sides. The British soldiers are not the “first-rate guys” nor are the Zulus “unpleasant guys,” and the lone derogatory comment about the fighting ability of the Zulus is instantly rebuffed by a tough Boer cavalryman who says, “And impartial who do you deem is coming to wipe out your exiguous garrison, the Grenadier Guards? ” This is a soldier’s myth about a soldier’s fight.

Did the Welsh really whine “Men of Harlach” as they manned their mealie-bag barricades?

Did the Zulus really render a warrior’s salute as they broke off the action on the second day of the battle?

It doesn’t matter. The film is lawful in the historical basics that really count.

Beautifully filmed on set, with an outstanding, stirring bag by John Barry, this film features solid but appropriately understated performances by Stanley Baker, Michael Caine, and Jack Hawkins.

I hesitate to mention the shocking, politically legal pre-quel, _Zulu Dawn_ which was released almost 25 years after _Zulu_, but any viewer who has the melancholy experience of seeing _Zulu Dawn_ should not be keep off from seeing _Zulu_, which shines in comparison.

Whether one is enthusiastic in military history or a “movie for men who like movies,” _Zulu_ is a suitable addition to a film library. From first to last, it is a compelling, suitable film.

Rumiko Takahashi is one of the, if not the, most distinguished female manga artist in the world. With titles such as “Ranma” and “Maison Ikokku” in her resume, she has established a worldwide following and has garnered a reputation as the Queen of Romantic Comedy. Her latest undertaking, “Inu-Yasha”, has already gained a cult following in the US and, like her other manga series, has been made into a successful anime series that has unprejudiced a strong following in America. American publisher Viz, having already published twelve volumes in the US, now brings us the anime.

At first behold, “Inu-Yasha” seems like a typical anime series. Kagome, a Japanese high school girl, is transported to the feudal age of Japan through a magical well, where she unwittingly awakens a cocky, imprisoned half-demon called Inu-Yasha. You stare, Inu-Yasha was after the Shikon no Tama, a mighty jewel that could grant him his wish to become paunchy demon, but a village priestess called Kikyo stopped him with a mystical arrow. Suffering from untreatable wounds, Kikyo decides to die and engage with her to her grave the Shikon no Tama. But fetch this: Kagome is apparently Kikyo’s reincarnation, and she unprejudiced so happens to have the Shikon no Tama with her! Then, through a bizarre residence of circumstances, the jewel ends up shattering and scattering all over Japan, and now Inu-Yasha and Kagome have to team up and accept these pieces.

Typical, huh?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Inuyasha – Down the Well! Click Here

Not quite.

You study, “Inu-Yasha” is a lot deeper than the first residence of episodes will have you acquire. Positive, it looks like something you’d earn in fair about every other fantasy anime series out there, but truthfully, the meat of the series is found in later episodes, when Takahashi demonstrates her right (if not bizarre) genius. But even with this in mind, the first three episodes found on this DVD do a really beneficial job of starting the series and drawing you in. The characters are likable and three-dimensional, and the station is executed at a reasonable amble. And with Takahashi’s recent sense of humor spread all over, you know this series is over-the-top as well as black and animated. Overall, the first three episodes are well done and should give the viewer a general concept of what to recognize forward to, even though Takahashi’s place twists are completely unexpected.

Visually, “Inu-Yasha” is one of the cleanest series around. The artwork isn’t as neat as, say, that of “X: TV”, but it’s definately fascinating and crisp enough to do an average viewer go “wow!”. Character models display valid representations of their manga counterparts, backgrounds are vibrant and fully detailed, and movement is collected and fluid. In short, “Inu-Yasha” is a aesthetic series that does justice to its source material.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Inuyasha – Down the Well! Click Here

Sound wise, the music is a handsome compliment to the visuals. It’s not the most memorable of soundtracks, but Kaoru Wada’s melodies are handsome and wistful and can score emotional when they need to be. The one complaint I have, however, is that the songs tend to declare themselves quite often and some songs are often nothing more than variations of other songs. But overall, the series’ soundtrack has no precise complaints. And the opening and ending…well, the ending song is really haunting and ends each episode on a perfect ticket, but who’s thought was it to spend a Korean boy-band song as the opening?

As for the English dub…to place it simply, the dub is above average. It does have its problems, but overall it’s delectable. Richard Cox does a qualified job as the half-demon Inu-Yasha, bringing the cocky anti-hero to life wonderfully. Monica Stori, unfortunately, stumbles at the beginning as the heroine Kagome. Many complain about her sounding too young, but I feel her biggest predicament was that at first she didn’t feel comfortable with her role. In later episodes she improves remarkably, but starting out she sounds somewhat broken-down and flat. Pam Hyatt does a righteous job as Kaede, but she can sometimes sound unenthusiastic and it’s somewhat unusual that she speaks in Traditional English and no one else does…

…which brings me to the dub’s biggest problem: the script, written by Trish Ledoux, who also wrote the script for “Ranma”. Trish has an annoying habit of using “Trishisms,” which are cliches and catchphrases, in her scripts and it’s these Trishisms that bring the dub down. Adding in her contain “touches” such as the phrase, “Toto, I don’t consider we’re in Tokyo anymore” makes the script feel dumbed down. Granted, the script doesn’t drastically alter the chronicle in any intention, but these Trishisms are the biggest thing holding the quality of the English track wait on.

So in general, for die-hard fans of the explain, the dub will be debatable because they associate the characters so worthy with the recent Japanese voices and thus anything that doesn’t fit will render the dub a travesty; nitpicking and complaints such as “they philosophize names differently” or “this issue sounds off” or “Kagome says, ‘Sit, boy!’” will definately be popping up in many reviews to advance. But for casual anime fans who won’t have to go into the point to with this kind of baggage for an incredibly well-liked series, the dub should satisfy.

Overall, the first volume of “Inu-Yasha” is a solid release. The only complaint I have about the expose is that the bid of the series was toned down from the manga to meet television standards (no fat frontal nudity, not as distinguished violence, etc.), but that’s only a minor complaint. Many will complain about the episode count per DVD, but impartial remember that the Japanese got only two episodes on the first disc and you may feel better (maybe) . But if you’re level-headed unsure as to whether you’ll like this series or not, you can acquire it on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block in a very, very lightly edited format. And since the explain gets better as the series progresses over its 90+ episodes (it’s unexcited running in Japan, by the draw), there will be plenty more “Inu-Yasha” to regain angry about in the future.

The celebrated Rumiko Takahashi’s — known for her very favorite series like Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, and Urusei Yatsura — most modern masterpiece is the myth that encompasses many different genres, a sample being: appreciate, action, suspense, and comedy. You wonder how narrative the sage is? Inu Yasha level-headed has yet to execute in Japan. Accurate now, it is currently at episode 86 with no signs that it’s ready to accomplish anytime soon. The second Inu Yasha movie is scheduled for this winter in Japan.

The series is named after a half-human, half-demon called Inu Yasha. One day on her fifteenth birthday, Kagome entered a well that was inside her family’s shrine. Diminutive did she know that she would be transported to the past in a time where many youkai (demons) dwell. There she realizes that she is the reincarnation of a past priestess named Kikyo who had the destiny to purify and protect the Shikon no Tama, a jewel that manifests and increases the sinister desires and power of youkai and sinister humans. Kagome wandered throughout the unusual location where she had arrived and found Inu Yasha, a dog-like half-youkai that Kikyo had sealed before her untimely death. Kagome had discovered the Shikon no Tama hidden within her while an encounter with a youkai. However, the Shikon no Tama had been shattered and dispersed after battling a different youkai. After learning more about this time, Kagome eventually favorite her destiny to pick up and protect the Shikon no Tama (while aloof juggling school work) as well with the wait on of a likeable cast of strong warriors.

As the legend progresses, it branches out a lot and becomes deeper and more complicated. Novel enemies, fresh friends, and unusual loves are all revealed. The only plight with this anime that I had was the addition of filler episodes. I can engage a few but they fair seemed to have a series of them or at the worst times. They ruined the progression of the legend especially when it fair started to rob up. Even though they are there to aid the character development, when the series has reached a length of like eighty episodes, viewers feel they know the characters well enough already.

The music is very well done. Some background tracks are very nice and calm that aid impart the mood. The battle, action, and suspense scenes do relieve increase tension. The vocal songs have a nice variety of mood settings with the lyrics expressing the tone of the series at that obvious point of the series. All the songs are avextrax done by Avex, a celebrated Japanese music company with noted artists and groups like Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, and Do As Infinity. The opening song is called, “I want to change the world,” performed by V6, which has a nice mellow tune to it that fits the inaugurate of a fable and adventure. The ending song is called, “My Will,” by Dream that is a very nice song. It expresses feelings through an upbeat version of a uninteresting song. It has an upbeat tempo but is slowed down and performed with a nice, calm issue.

Viz brings a reasonable dub to Inu Yasha. Inu Yasha is now being shown on Cartoon Network’s unhurried block of more stale anime, Adult Swim. Currently Adult Swim features other anime like Cowboy Bebop and Yu Yu Hakusho. The voices fit with the characters. I had a few problems with some translations and pronunciations. They translated the phrase, “Osuwari (‘Sit’ as a philosophize) ” as “Sit Boy.” I can understand the need to enjoy in the syllables but it honest sounds curious to me. They pronounced a name very oddly. They pronounced Kaede (emphasis on the Ka) Ka-EE-deh with a VERY strong emphasis on the ‘e.’ But I do commend them on trying to retain the musty Japanese feel to it by having terms like Shikon no Tama remain in Japanese.

Final Note: I believe Viz will pull out a very solid release and with the myth being solid as well, many will continue to acquire up this series in the future. The only dilemma I have is the three episode per DVD release. It’s a noble thing that the stamp has been dropped five dollars however, with such a long series, I don’t believe three episodes per DVD will gash it. I hope that maybe later, Viz will pull it up to four or five episodes per each DVD.

‘King of the Beats’ is halfway in between being a documentary and a movie. It contains footage of Kerouac and interviews with Ginsberg, Burroughs, Ferlinghetti, Huncke, etc. But the majority of the footage is of actors portraying the events of kerouac’s life, with a voiceover guiding the fable. It’s incredibly wearisome and pointless, and the draw the narrative is presented is terrible, also. Several critical elements of Kerouac’s life are merely skimmed over. The whole thing has the feel of a cheap 1980′s ‘made for tv’ movie-documentary. On the definite side, many of the interviews are quite captivating, but sadly we only bag fragments. The interview with Huncke is quite amusing. The footage of Jack on the Steve Allen reveal and 10 years later on Firing Line is exciting.

If you want to learn about Kerouac or you are an admirer who wants to learn more and to survey footage of him, purchase “What happened to Kerouac” instead, a mid 70′s documentary that was made. It’s available on DVD and is far suited to this, including several inviting interviews not only with the people mentioned above, but others such as Gary Snyder. It also contains the two TV appearances mentioned above.

Yeah, this one is neither fish nor fowl. It includes some suitable footage and interviews with members of the beat generation, but its attempt to dramatize Kerouac’s life are unfulfilling. The acting is sixth rate, and the actors themselves don’t recognize noteworthy at all like Jack or Neal Cassady. I believe it was a big notion to have an actor read passages from Kerouac’s work, but even this manages to grate as the sentences are read melodramatically and dismal by too noteworthy emotion. Kerouac didn’t sound like that, nor, from what I have read, did he contemplate like that. This documentary was quite a disappointment and two other films are available on the tragic man which are far gracious in quality.

There is very miniature about this movie that can be considered “apprehension” per se. At best, in this sense, the film is a suspense flick, with a somewhat spooky score/soundtrack (that added plenty to the tension in its atmosphere), and a sizable cast who portrayed the best and worst traits in human nature.

I can understand those who give the movie a abominable review since they were expecting something extremely scary (that’s the map in which it is being marketed) and ended up watching an vivid, well presented notice in proper and nasty, honest vs. foul, loyalty vs. survival, and many other concepts that one wouldn’t demand from a “alarm” flick. This movie, in that sense, simply was not what the average goer was promised.

Now, as far as obliging films are concerned, this is definitely a suitable difficulty. It has more depth than one could ever expect; the cinematography is done extremely well; and the acting is valid (even on the fraction of the nearly peaceful and secondary infected characters) . The symbolism is one that the average movie watcher might not gain, especially if they’re looking for two hours of gore or scary moments (there are very few of those, as the director clearly preferred to refrain from using extremely graphic imagery) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream 28 Days Later! Click Here

Indeed, what makes this film a necessary one is the social criticism and the analysis of human nature that it presents. What is more well-known, survival or friendship/family? Are the ethics of scientific research being checked to prevent the creation of rank agents (even if not as tragic and crude as what we look in this film)? Is it worth fighting for one’s life when hope is shadowy or even non-existant? Many more questions arise and give outrageous value to this film. This is definitely an pleasurable example of existentialist movie making. Whether it is a fear film or not becomes irrelevant once you seek its legal meaning.

So, if you are the kind of person who enjoys trashy and bloody films like the Jason or Freddy “epics,” or if you cannot handle too powerful thinking while at the theatre, then this is not a movie for you. If you’ve enjoyed “sparkling” flicks like “Lost Highway,” “Frailty,” or “The Ring,” then this is definitely for you. You will feel genuine about seeing this one, even though it portrays so many abominable and monstrous things about us as “humans.”

28 Days Later is stylish, lonely, bloody, desperate, wet, violent, frantic, thoughtful, scary and, ultimately, hopeful. Danny Boyle artfully directs Alex Garland’s script while paying homage to movies like the Omega Man and George Romero’s Slow trilogy. As hard as it is for me to say, 28 Days is a worthy better film than any of the films mentioned above.

The movie focuses on the people who have not been infected with a virus that turns humans into rage filled zombies. In fact, the zombies only fabricate a few hide appearances, the alarm factor of the movie coming mainly from the reactions of the uninfected people to their space. The main characters are well acted and I cared about what happened to them. Visually the movie is a masterpiece and the scenes in an empty London are improbable.

Buy,Download, Or Stream 28 Days Later! Click Here

I recommend 28 Days Later to fans of the other movies mentioned above or anybody looking for a thoughtful, scary zombie film. People looking to pull their brain out for a few hours or for non-stop gore and zombies will most likely be disappointed.

I watched KOR when I was a teenager; in fact, my age is about the same as Kyosuke, Madoka, and Hikaru in the demonstrate. Surprisingly, I found myself appreciating the animation, especially this final OAV movie and the unique movie, more so as a stout grown adult lawful now with kids. The explain is about adore and commitments one made in life, whatever that might be. While there might be some silliness in the movie (and the recent TV note), those silliness only enable the characters and the audience to ask the expect “what if’s”.

Buy,Download, Or Stream New Kimagure Orange Road: Summer’s Beginning! Click Here

The only inquire I have is why Amazon added “Vol. 1″ after the title; this is a movie, not a OAV series.

First, I should let you know that the DVD I bought had a different shroud. Same movie, however.

If you have watched all the TV episodes, the other OAVs, and the final movie for KOR (I want to return to that day–the inevitable and heartrendingly beautiful/painful resolution of the treasure triangle), you very likely have as distinguished fancy for the series as I do, and can overlook (or embrace) the occasional bits of cheesy silliness that were prove in all of KOR except the final movie, instead submersing yourself in the correct beauty and sweetness of the series.

Buy,Download, Or Stream New Kimagure Orange Road: Summer’s Beginning! Click Here

This OAV (which is NOT portion of a fresh series. It’s called “original” to demonstrate that it comes AFTER “I want to return to that day”) has the cheese, and has the sweetness and fun, objective like the other OAVs did.

Although I gain this OAV could stand alone, I reflect it is considerable better generous to be watched after someone’s seen a ample part of the TV episodes, one or two OAVs, and absolutely the Final Movie (which is, IMO, stunningly advantageous.)

This OAV makes a suitable postscript to the series by showing not only that life and joy and friendship go on, but also showing how they went on in the lives of the characters we’ve arrive to admire. I’d give it five stars, but not for anyone watching it without having seen the series, so I’m leaving it at four.

10 Things I Disapprove About You is a fairly basic teen worship record, but with the added twist of Shakespeare and some great comedic acting.

The account is based on Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. It is about two sisters, one very celebrated, Bianca Stratford (played by Larisa Oleynik) and the other, Katrina, or “Kat” (played by Julia Stiles) hated because of her gruff character. Their overbearing father (played by the hilarious Larry Miller), devises a diagram whereby Bianca cannot date until rebellious Katrina does, which seems an impossibility. Thereby is station up a way to pair Katrina off with the impish Patrick Verona. One of the masterminds of this state is Cameron James (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a newcomer to Padua high, where the movie takes state. The other is his assistant of sorts, Michael Eckman (played by David Khumoltz) .

Though somewhat predictable, especially if you have read Taming of the Shrew, it is an curious light diversion. The dialogue is quite well done, intertwining a word or phrase from Shakespeare with novel teen slang. Other odes to Shakespeare are seen in Kat’s friend who idolizes him as if he is a teen heartthrob, plus reading of his works in one Kat’s classes. The timing in the dialogue is also very Shakespearean (for a comedy) . It’s Very quick fire. I assume both David Khumoltz and Larry Miller are amazingly laughable!

Buy,Download, Or Stream 10 Things I Hate About You! Click Here

Overall, this is not your typical shallow teen romance movie, but can appeal to anyone who enjoys witty dialogue, and many literary references.

The DVD is unremarkable. It has a safe DD 5.1 soundtrack driven by a nice selection of alternative rock – Letters from Clio had several cameos, but I have they mainly played hide tunes, not their fill stuff. The DVD does not hold any special features.

When I first saw previews for this movie, I opinion that it looked alright, and that it was fair another movie like Can’t Hardly Wait and She’s All That. Since I found those movies appealing, I decided to examine it. When I finished the movie, I was completly blown away. The movie was nothing as I had expected it would be. The set was so considerable better than all of those other teenage movies. This movie has everything: a pleasurable script, hysterical jokes, vast acting, even a righteous soundtrack. Heath Ledger played Patrick Verona, a typical tough guy, and it’s so fun to contemplate his tough exterior dissapear to articulate a sensitive loving guy. Julia Stiles does a incredible portrayal of Kat Stratford, a sarcastic teenage girl trying her hardest not to fit in. Her sister Bianca is also well cast, played by Larissa Olyenick. The disagreement between these two sisters is hysterical. Cameron, a sweet guy, is played by Joesph Gordon-Levitt, and you can’t serve but smile at his innocence (“She kissed me! <where? > …In the car!”) This movie follows the lives of these astounding characters, and you will advance to worship each of them. Even all of the smaller parts are well acted and droll, such as the Stratford sisters uptight father, the hysterical guidance counselor Ms. Perky, and all of the other high school students. One of the best things about this movie is how legal it is. Hasten into any high school, and you will feel like you have impartial walked into Padua, their school. (“Those are your basic attractive people…don’t talk to them unless they talk to you first.”) It is very rare to rep a movie that has so remarkable humor. Give this movie a chance, I’m joyful I did…I could probably recite the whole movie by heart.

That should have been a subtitle title for Dance With Me Henry. While it’s not their best work, a complicated state which gets more complicated as it goes along, Henry is delightful if you like mob films. This represents a change in the direction of A&C films, with Lou playing Lou Henry, a play-it-straight, knowing proprietor of Kiddyland amusement park. All he wants is to support the Welfare Board from declaring him an unfit parent and hold away his two adopted children. Bud plays Bud Flick, the semi-shady friend of Henry, who runs up a $20,000 gambling debt and gets in hot water with the mob. Flick uses Henry’s generosity and friendship to bail himself out, with disastrous results, even leading to Lou being wrongly arrested for the slay of the D.A.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Dance with Me, Henry! Click Here

As this was to be their last film together, the change in character was obsolete to try something original. While Henry will often remind the viewer of a 1950s mafia film, such as The Untouchables, there are plenty of laughs along the design. For instance, the very last chaotic scene in the amusement park contains plenty of slapstick humor. Also, the slick talking Flick manages to confuse Costello into irascible situations, as in many of their earlier films. Granted this is an atypical A&C movie, but any A&C fan will enjoy the boys’ work here. As with other atypical A&C films, such as Time of Their Lives and Diminutive Giant, Dance With Me Henry includes some of their most creative work.

Their last film, uses the team in non-comedic team roles. Not the first time, but it really stands out here. For an A&C fan, worth looking to peep the changes that they went through as a team and all. Mostly this is a Lou vehicle, worth a gawk, but certainly not a classic.

This movie will seem very familiar to most long-time movie watchers as it is in many ways a remake of the vintage screwball comedies of the early ’30′s but with a decidedly ’90′s twist.

The heroine of the film is Maggie, a young woman who has dropped out of university to try and catch herself as an artist. She also supplements her income from painting by working at a bookstore which serves the LesBiGayT (Lesbian-Bisexual-Gay-Transsexual) community of a runt British Columbian town.

Maggie’s life is greatly complicated when, on the same day, she begins to topple in admire with an itinerant painter named Kim, and she receives word that her mother and teenage brother are going to be coming to town to pause with her. This is particularly problematic because Maggie hasn’t disclosed her sexual orientation to her family.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Better Than Chocolate! Click Here

A distinct amount of predictable hijinks ensue as Maggie tries to withhold her family from deducing the truth about her relationship with Kim. She also, of course, must support them from figuring out that anything is “out-of-place” about her friends and co-workers. As well, there are several sub-plots introduced to give the film more political relevancy, including Canada’s strict censorship laws and the subject of anti-transsexual discrimination in the LesBiGayT community, however they are not especially well developed.

In conclusion, this film is very laughable at some points, but moves very predictably at others. It is a rather light-hearted retract on lesbian romance and coming-out issues, but the sub-plots occasionally weigh it down. Since most of the sub-plots contained enough potential to be films of their occupy, the film-makers could have dropped some of them from this report to expend more time exploring Maggie and Kim’s relationship. That said, I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies and has an initiate mind.

There’s no shortage of mediocre gay/lesbian movies out these days, in which we follow the trials and tribulations of a group of friends (tickled, lesbian, maybe an occasional trans) as they descend in and out of fancy and do a lot of dancing. “Better than Chocolate” is another one of those movies and it’s okay for what it is, but I can’t befriend wishing these movies would aim fair a small bit higher.

As with most films in this genre, there’s the central fancy account, here a sort of instant-fall-in-love scenario between two women, both of whom are essentially nice, ravishing, etc. The “character flaw” of one is that she lives on the road and always leaves when the going gets tough; the other one’s “flaw” is that she hasn’t told her mother that she’s cheerful, yet, and hasn’t really committed to her identity as a lesbian. So, they tumble in appreciate, the mother comes to finish with her daughter, hijinks ensue. There are a few subplots tossed in, the most moving of which centers around the one transgender character who is hoping (in vain) that her parents have finally popular her.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Better Than Chocolate! Click Here

The obedient things about this movie? Well, for one thing, there are a couple of truly erotic scenes between the two main characters, and well done erotica is a rarity in ANY genre of film. Also, there are a couple of song/dance routines that are performed by the main characters that are truly nifty. As a matter of fact, I wish they’d done more of that and less of the soap-opera-y stuff.

Perhaps the biggest flaw in the film is unbiased how predictable it all is. You know who’s going to slay up together, you know that the mother will eventually accept out the truth and, after a bit of shell-shock, will come by her daughter as a lesbian, etc. There are no surprises. And the political subtext (censorship is abominable, violent skin-heads are awful, prejudice is poor, etc.) never risks though-provoking its viewers; it’s sparkling great a given that anyone who’s going to peep this movie is going to agree with all the opinions expressed within it.

So, if you’re in the mood for yet another gay/lesbian comedy/drama, you could do worse than this one. But don’t go into this expecting anything profound or sparkling… “Better than Chocolate” never challenges or surprises, it only re-affirms what’s already been said in other, similar movies.

Young, rascally Anne Frank, if not for the incredible circumstances of her life, may have grown up to be a writer, a movie star, or any of the other thousand things she dreamed and fantasized about, as any adolescent girl does. Instead, she has become an icon, a symbol of hope, and an inspiration to millions of people around the world who have suffered under the hands of despotism and scare. This DVD serves as a documentary, and tribute, to this extraordinary girls life.

Directed by Jon Blair, who previously produced a documentary on the life of Oskar Schindler, brings his skills and expertise to bringing to life the life of Anne and her family as they first skim Germany to status up her home in Amsterdam, and then, to hover into hiding once German invades the Netherlands. As told through the eyes of her childhood friends, Anne is precocious, prankish and fun. Interviews with Lies Gosslar and others provide first hand accounts about her, and do her dependable and authentic, not grandios or distorted, as the tendency may be for someone as illustrious as Anne. This documentary also doesn’t worried away from Anne’s burgeoning sexuality and her feelings about her adolscence, which provides a more complete represent of this girl.

The documentary moves into the Frank family needing to veil from the Nazis in their Secret Annex, and we meet the impressive Miep Gies, who sustained the people living there for two years. The footage of Miep in the Annex itself was improbable, and her testimony just and compelling. A scene in which the son of Fritz Pfeffer, the Jewish dentist who also hid in the Secret Annex, meets Miep in Annex itself reduced me to tears in an instant; kudos to Blair for making this reunion happen and steal it on film. Fabulous cinema.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Anne Frank Remembered! Click Here

What I appreciated most about this documentary occurs after everyone in captured from the Annex and forced into the hands of the Nazis. Blair painstakingly recounts the final months of the Franks lives, which in past documentaries seems to be rushed over. Blair brings Jewish survivors who knew the Franks relieve to the camps they were imprisoned in, and shared their experiences. The conclude is chilling, and allows us to truly understand the last months of Anne’s life more than I ever have before. He brings serve Lies to talk about being with Anne during her last few days; unbelievable.

Also incredible, Blair digging up a very brief movie clip of Anne herself, leaning out the window watching a wedding happen on her street. The twelve year extinct girl becomes even more alive as we leer her, hair blowing in the wind, looking up and late her, not shiny what her fate will be in honest a few years.

Anne Frank so longed to be known around the world, dreaming of becoming a eminent writer, and even began to prepare her diary for publication after the war. While she never lived to peep that occur, her legacy and gift to the world, through her inspirational words, remains with us today. And this documentary serves as an favorable tribute to her short, short life.

After having visited the Annne Frank House last month in Amsterdam I was anxious to learn more about her brief life and times. I bought this video recently and have seen it over an over many times. Anne comes alive through the interviews with Miep Gies, Hannah Goslar and her father Otto. Rather then the canonized person we tend to opinion her as she is in many ways a typical early adolescent; petulant, self centered, important, sweet, lustrous and gentle – a person with strong likes and dislikes. The most entertaining piece of the documentary was a first time meeting between the son of “Alfred Dussel” (in reality Dussel was Fritz Pfeffer – the Dentist who shared a room with Anne) whose name was Peter Pepper. It really brought tears to my eyes and then we are told that two months after the meeting he died of cancer. Also at the very ruin of the documentary is a home movie made of a wedding in Amsterdam in 1941 where the cameraman looks up and we stare Anne Frank watching the wedding party – it is the only known inviting image of her.
